The Power of Aspiration

Ariolima (commonly referred to as Ari) is a pretty girl who wears a perpetually sad expression. Her skin is a light brown verging on tan, with dark spots in a vaguely striped pattern. Her eyes are a solid gloss black.
The reason that she always seems sad is because of the distance between herself and the other Nobilis.
See, rumor has it that her Monarch was weeding his humanity garden one day, when he happened to look down and spy a small leopard slug sitting on the ground looking wistfully up at the humans. Periodically, it tried to raise up on end and bunched up as if to hop, but inevitably flopped back down instead.
"What are you doing, tiny serpent?" he asked (the Monarch had never seen a slug before, and thought that this was a relative of Aaron's serpents).
"All of my life I have been on the ground at the feet of these creatures," it said. "They are beautiful. But when they notice me at all, they try to step on me, or pour salt on me, or look away in disgust. It has always been my dream to be like them. I am practicing walking as they do, but it is difficult with only the one foot and no legs."
"Interesting," the gardener replied thoughtfully. "Some would say it is impossible, with only the one foot and no legs. Won't you save yourself the energy and find some other goal?"
"Perhaps it is impossible," allowed the slug, "but I'm not going to give up hope just yet."
The Monarch wished the slug well, and finished his gardening. The next day, he came back, and the slug was still there, still trying to learn how to walk.
"What? Haven't you given up yet?"
"No, sir. As I said, it is my dream. I will not give up."
The next day, the Monarch went back to garden, and once again met the slug.
"Well, my foolish little serpent. I see you are still hard at your practicing."
"Yes, sir." Flop. Wriggle. Stretch .... balance .... wobble ... flop.
"Come, won't you give up now?"
"No sir, I cannot. My Dream is all that I have. Without that to give me hope, I truly would be nothing more than a common garden pest. I think in that case I should cast myself beneath the heel of the nearest human."
"I admire your persistance, creature. Three times have I asked you to abandon your quest, and three times you have refused, even knowing it is unattainable. Also, you seem to enjoy my garden. Take my hand, accept this sliver of my essence, and rise."
And so Ari was EnNobled as the Power of Aspiration, attaining her deepest wish, to be like the humans she so admired.
However, it has not turned out to be all that she had hoped. While there are EnNobled cartoon characters, pieces of music, and other such, most Nobilis are human, and most humans do not like slimy pests. Even when they have been given human form and raised to the level of deities. Perhaps especially then.
