Dwellers in the Threshold - Dramatis Personae
The player characters for Dwellers in the Threshold are members of a perfect circle that I call the Shards of the Phoenix (but this name is not official yet). They are:
The Shards of the Phoenix:
Jaslyn - Mysterious woman who hates slavers intensely. Jaslyn is a Storyteller Character played by Chris McGuire.
Tifret - A former slave of the Despot of Gem, who later became an ardent Priest of the Unconquered Sun. Tifret is played by Stacy Stroud. [Sheet & history]
Hiko Iruka - Western fisherboy and potent Sorcerer. Iruka is played by me, Jimmy McKinney. [Sheet] [Background]
Valder - Fifteen year old gang member from Nexus, who is unaware about much of the outside world. Played by Scott Bowden.
Lisori - Dynast turned Solar Anathema, with a ton of angst resulting from the fact that her lover is a Dragon-blooded. Lisori is played by Jenna McGuire.
Original major NPC's are listed below.
The Dragon-blooded:
V'Neef Nels Astarte - A young Dragon-blooded who shipwrecked and was saved by Iruka, and subsequently fell in love with him. Iruka has not seen her since his Exaltation some months ago. [Sheet]
Sesus Sirion - Lisori's lover, a Fire aspected Dragon-blood. He is not aware of what Lisori has become ... as far as she knows.
Nago Acatae - The Dragon-blooded sorcerer that built Iruka's manse (Nago Acatae's Grotto) and bound an elemental to it (the predecessor of Naida). He was known to be something of a letch. He is, as far as anyone can tell, deceased (a body was in the Manse).
Others:
- Naida - Naida be a water elemental with the personality of an amorous teenage girl and an affected archaic speech pattern. She be Iruka's mentor, and be also bound by ancient magic to protect his Manse. She has, in turn, sworn Iruka to perform three labors: retrieve a stolen chalice, negotiate some sort of treaty with a nearby spirit, and supply Naida with a mortal child to raise. The first of these must be performed within a year and a day, and the rest a year and a day after the preceding one.
- Orphe - A spirit that lives near Naida's pool. Naida accuses her of "drinking to deeply" and wants Iruka to take care of the situation as one of his labors.
- Orne - Tifret's brother, a smartass Bruce Campbell type treasure-hunter
- Tirsid - Tifret's biographer, a socially-inept nerd who writes flowerly biblical prose
- Nimri - Ex-warlord turned willing menial servant after conversion by Tifret.
- Valder's gang members - Pontoon, Lug, etc.
- Lord Dusk
