Yay. I fixed the problem that was keeping me from logging in. Stupid file permissions got garbled on the one file that absolutely needed to stay the same.
I have created a new weblog for my upcoming Nobilis game, Delphinium and Larkspur. (Actually, this is a sort-of a revival of the game. I intended to run it as an email game last year, but it never got off the ground.)
As you may have noticed, I did a bit of rearranging on the site so that this news weblog is also the main index for niflheim.net. That might help me not forget to update the silly thing, ensures people don't miss the updates, and also provides a bit more organization to the site.
My home internet access has been down since early Friday Morning due to upgrades being made by my provider across much of the city (judging by their recording).
It seems likely to stay offline all weekend, but who knows. I'm presently posting from Mom's, where my brother has DSL. Oh, how I loathe Cable Modems.
Anyway, that's why I haven't been able to do any more work on the site.
When I left for work today, our internet access was still out.
That's 3 days and counting. What kind of moron decides that the weekend will make a brilliant time in which to perform upgrades?
Today is my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Stacey.
Internet still down at home. Blah. Four days and counting.
Yep, we are finally back online, as of a half hour ago.
And there was much rejoicing ("yaaaay.")
Update: Although it seems to be a bit flaky...
If you have noticed that comments are closed throughout the site, that's because spammers have been discovering this weblog. I will only keep the last few entries open for comments at any given time to discourage this.
Just thought you might like to know.
I have been updating the RSS feed templates in the site's weblogs over the last day or so, so that all of you people that like to use aggregators to syndicate favorite sites will now find both RSS 1.0 and RSS 2.0 feeds (currently, this page, Delphinium, and Obsidian Requiem are updated). If you don't know anything about RSS, then you should check it out … it really makes it easy to see when your favorite sites are updated.
An Aggregator is sort of like an Alligator, except it catches website updates (rather than fish, snakes, alarm clocks, or pirate hands) in its jaws.
Mozilla Firefox users, try out Sage (unless you use Mozilla Thunderbird, which has RSS support built right in).
Users of Mozilla, the best bet is to wait for NewsMonster to get fixed (the 1.2.2 version breaks Mozilla)
Until then (or for users of other browsers), I recommend FeedReader
Then you will need to give your aggregator some Feed URLs, which often have little orange icons saying “RSS” or “XML”, like the ones in the bottom right corner of this page.
If you use Sage (or other Aggregator that supports automatic discovery) then the program actually can find Feeds on pages that you visit without much effort (in Sage, you press a button while looking at this site, and it tells you that there are two feeds found, and you can choose which you want to subscribe to).
